这款诞生于 2011 年的公交信息工具就是为此而生。如果说 Kickstarter 通过群体资金实现对优秀的个人项目筹款，维基百科借助众人智慧实现对自由知识的聚集，那么毫无疑问，Moovit 就是公交信息领域的 Kickstarter 和维基百科。
让用户贡献公共交通信息?Moovit 的这套逻辑和 Waze 有点相似，不过 Moovit 关注的内容主要是公共交通，包括巴士、电车、地铁和渡轮等多款工具。用户在接入到 Moovit 后，会看到系统提供周边的公交和地铁站点信息。
Moovit 正在快速发展。他们在今年三月宣布用户总数达到 60 万，9 个月后，这个数字已经突破 300 万。他们还表示，每天用户生成的报告超过 1000 万份，其中有 300 万来自移动用户。现在，他们的服务覆盖全球 100 个城市。
